The full line of Denali product offerings is meticulously crafted by Monterey Mills, a major U.S. manufacturer of pile products with over 65 years of experience producing quality consumer and commercial goods, using a knitting process that isn’t a secret but has certainly proven to be the secret sauce in their fabric’s comfort and quality.
Sliver knitting, or high-pile knitting, is a process that locks individual fibers into a lightweight knit backing. The individual fibers that are used in Denali® Microplush fabric are an extremely fine denier acrylic fiber. The length of the acrylic fibers adds dimension and warmth to the fabric without adding additional weight. Other advantages of using acrylic fiber include colorfast dyes and fabric that is odor and mildew resistant. The end result is a light, soft, comfortable fabric that is warmer than fleece and is machine washable and dryable.
The sliver-knitting process is a lost art that very few companies still practice today, mainly due to the attention to detail and the labor-intensive process. This is what makes the difference between our blankets and everyone else’s. We’re willing to do all the little things by hand and utilize the most reliable manufacturing process to produce the softest, most durable blanket on the market.
