WEEK 10: ELITE TEAM PICKS OF THE WEEK

After a week full of exciting politics, football goes on. Last week was filled with intriguing games, and I foresee this week being very similar. Unfortunately, I was unable to get to the Thursday night game in time. The Ravens beat the Browns 28-7 behind a great passing performance from Joe Flacco. Now, onto the Sunday games….

Green Bay Packers (4-4) at Tennessee Titans (4-5)

Simply put, the Packers are slumping. Big time. The Titans defense was greatly exposed last week against the Chargers, as they put up 43 points, including giving up 196 yards of rushing. While it may seem like the Packers aren’t going to show up for a while, I think Aaron Rodgers and Co. do very well in Music City this weekend.

Minnesota Vikings (5-3) at Washington Redskins (4-3-1)

The Vikings have dropped three in a row, and like their NFC North-counterpart, are slumping big. Their overtime loss to Detroit has given the division a very competitive feel. This week they face a Redskins’ team coming off the bye. I’ll take the well-rested home team in a tight one.

Chicago Bears (2-6) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5)

The Bears haven’t been able to take advantage of their slumping divisional members, and they couldn’t this past week, as they were on bye. The Bucs defense did not perform well last week, allowing 43 at home against the Falcons. I’ll take Tampa in this one.

Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) at Carolina Panthers (3-5)

Kansas City couldn’t get going last week in a home loss to the Jags. Carolina won in a tight battle against the Rams in underwhelming fashion. This one is a tough one to call. I think the Chiefs look like the better team, especially on defense.

Atlanta Falcons (6-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-4)

Atlanta showed up last Thursday night, with a dominant performance by Matt Ryan. They look as if they are clicking on all levels, which will not bode well for their opponent this week. Philly lost that week, even as Carson Wentz played very well. Atlanta rolls.

Los Angeles Rams (3-5) at New York Jets (3-6)

Todd Gurley looks like a totally different back from last season. I mean he hasn’t gotten over 100 yards rushing in weeks. The Jets haven’t looked much better, and Fitzpatrick cannot seem to go more than 20 throws without an interception. This game will be decided by which quarterback can throw less interceptions.

Denver Broncos (6-3) at New Orleans Saints (4-4)

The Broncos may be losing this divisional race to Oakland, however Siemian actually played well last week. As long as they are able to show up on defense this week, they can control the Saints. The Saints put up 43 last week, as Mark Ingram went off. I thinks Saints continue this dominance.

Houston Texans (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)

Jacksonville wasn’t able to pull out last week, and face a well-rested Texans team this week. Bortles and Ivory showed up, but wasn’t able to execute when it mattered last week. I think that the Texans take this one, in OT.

Miami Dolphins (4-4) at San Diego Chargers (4-5)

The Dolphins won last week after yet another incredible performance from Jay Ajayi. I mean, does this man have an off switch. The Chargers had an impressive rusher themselves, as Melvin Gordon rushed for just shy of 200. I think Ajayi does it again, leading his team to victory once again.

Dallas Cowboys (7-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4)

The Cowboys had a walk in the park last weekend when they traveled to Cleveland. Jason Witten had his first decent performance of the season. The Steelers benefited from Ben Roethlisberger’s return, but it wasn’t enough in the loss. I don’t think the Cowboys go down this week.

San Francisco 49ers (1-7) at Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1)

The Cardinals were on bye last week, as they were able to study what have gotten them to this horrible position early on in the season. The 49ers are not able to get a W, either, losing again in convincing fashion. I think Arizona is the better teams on both sides of the ball, as they get to an even record.

Seattle Seahawks (5-2-1) at New England Patriots (7-1)

This SNF game will be one to watch. While the Seahawks have looked underwhelming at many points this season, their defense is still dominant. The Patriots were on bye last week, but they have been cruising to victories ever since Brady returned. I think they get yet another win this week.

Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1) at New York Giants (5-3)

The MNF game this week features two teams that probably thought their records would be flipped at this point in the season. Cincinnati may be able to fix some of their woes on both sides of the ball during their bye this past week, but you never know with that team. The Giants won again last week, and could be a team competing for a Wild Card spot this year. I like the G-Men this week.
